the story :
A "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. Dengan perubahan sutradara dari Bryan Singer - yang meninggalkan X-Men untuk menyutradarai Superman Returns - ke Brett Ratner sulit untuk tidak membanding-bandingkan 2 film X-Men yang pertama dengan X-Men : The Last Stand. Meskipun yang dilakukan Brett Ratner tidaklah buruk, ada sesuatu yang kurang dari film ini, mungkin semacam emotional touch. Dalam film pertama kita merasa care dengan tokoh-tokoh Wolverine, Rouge, Cyclops, even Jean Grey. Di film kedua kita merasakan kepedihan hati Nightcrawler, kegelisahan hati Wolverine. Di film ini kita melihat semuanya diceritakan datar-datar saja. Mengenai jalan cerita cukup bagus, action yang amazing. The final battle between X-Men and Magneto's army is really well done.

Overall, I do have fun watching this film, but something's missing from previous installments. Mungkin jika film in lebih banyak menceritakan background story seperti bagaimana "cure" for mutant ditemukan, atau mengapa Profesor Xavier berselisih paham dengan Magneto, film ini akan jadi lebih bagus.
